Face drivers type FFB are power-operated on the side of the machine spindle and the corresponding applied counter-force of the tailstock. The work pieces are clamped centrically by a solid fixed dead centre pin, which results in high true run-out accuracy. The datum-point position is in the centre of the work piece.

Maximum true run-out deviation is approx. 0.002-0.01mm.
The tailstock force should be 30% higher than the clamping cylinder force to ensure safe clamping

With clamping system specially for grinding

The work pieces are clamped centrically by a solid fixed dead centre pin, which results in high true run-out accuracy. The datum-point position is in the centre of the work piece.

In order to be able to ensure a possible overrun of the grinding disks, the face driver is cylindrically set-down at the head end. For maximum true run-out requirements the face driver can be fine-tuned with set-screws. Maximum true run-out deviation is approx. 0.002-0.006mm.
